These Terms & Conditions explain how we work, what you can expect from us and what we'll need from you throughout your project. We've written them in plain English because we believe expectations should be clear before any work begins.
If you have any questions, please ask. We'd much rather explain something properly before work starts than leave anything open to interpretation later.
About Renex
Renex Construction provides residential construction services across Lancashire, including home extensions, interior renovations and landscaping projects.
Throughout these terms, "Renex", "we", "our" and "us" refer to Renex Construction. "You" refers to the homeowner or customer named on the quotation or contract.
Accepting a quotation
Work will only be scheduled once your quotation has been accepted and any agreed deposit has been received.
Acceptance of a quotation confirms that you've read and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
Deposits & Payments
Some projects require a deposit before work begins. Any deposit amount will be clearly stated within your quotation.
Remaining payments will be made according to the agreed payment schedule or project milestones.
Invoices are payable within 7 days unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Late payments may result in work being paused until payment has been received.
Changes during the project
Construction projects sometimes uncover issues that couldn't reasonably have been identified before work began, such as hidden structural problems, drainage issues or unforeseen ground conditions.
If additional work becomes necessary, we'll explain the situation, discuss your options and provide any revised costs before proceeding wherever reasonably possible.
We will never knowingly carry out additional chargeable work without discussing it with you first.
Delays
We'll always do our best to complete your project within the agreed timescale.
However, construction work can occasionally be affected by circumstances outside our control, including severe weather, supplier delays, utility companies, planning requirements or unforeseen site conditions.
If delays occur, we'll communicate them as early as possible and keep you updated throughout.
Access to your property
You'll need to provide safe access to the property during agreed working hours and ensure utilities such as electricity and water are available where reasonably required.
If access is unavailable or work is delayed for reasons outside our control, this may affect the project programme.
Existing conditions
While every effort is made to identify potential issues before work begins, some problems only become visible once construction is underway.
Renex cannot be held responsible for hidden defects or conditions that were not reasonably discoverable during the quotation stage.
Where these arise, we'll explain the issue and agree the best course of action with you before continuing.
Materials
Where materials are specified within your quotation, we'll source products of the agreed quality and specification.
Occasionally manufacturers discontinue products or experience supply shortages. If this happens, we'll discuss suitable alternatives with you before ordering replacement materials.
Client communication
Clear communication is an important part of how we work.
Throughout your project we'll keep you informed of progress, upcoming stages and any significant changes affecting the programme.
Where applicable, you'll also receive access to our Client Portal, allowing you to view project information, documents and updates in one place.
Health & Safety
We ask that customers avoid entering active work areas unless accompanied by a member of the Renex team.
Construction sites naturally contain hazards and restricting access helps keep everyone safe.
Completion
Once work has been completed, we'll carry out a final walkthrough with you to ensure everything has been delivered in accordance with the agreed scope of works.
Any minor snagging items identified during handover will be recorded and completed within a reasonable timeframe.
Guarantees
Where guarantees apply, they'll be explained within your quotation or project documentation.
Manufacturer warranties remain subject to the individual manufacturer's terms.
Photographs
Unless you've specifically asked us not to, we may photograph completed work for use on our website, social media and marketing materials.
We will never publish personal information or photographs that identify you without your permission.
If you'd prefer your project to remain private, simply let us know.
Cancellations
If you decide to cancel your project before work has started, please contact us as soon as possible.
Where materials have already been ordered or costs have been incurred specifically for your project, these may remain payable.
If work has already commenced, you'll be responsible for payment of work completed and any committed costs up to the cancellation date.
Limitation of liability
Nothing within these Terms & Conditions limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.
Subject to applicable law, Renex's liability is limited to the value of the agreed contract for the work carried out.
Complaints
If something isn't right, we'd always encourage you to speak to us first.
Most issues can be resolved quickly through an open conversation.

Governing law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
